In-Tune: BronZe

Style: Electronica

"Another fine release from "groovecaffe" is BronZe, young producer from Zagreb who will definitely be frontier in generations of producers from Croatia. With lots of percussions and fine pads, EP is made from collection of self-paced "electroetheric ambient lounge" with dark echo-reverbs, gloomy voice samples and absolutely huge bass sounds. He structured his sound with a little less melody and with more dub grooves and drops to opt for a dreamy, disorientating flight through ambient scapes. Bronze's tracks are dreamier and more beautiful if you unplug you brain for a while and seat back and relax. Visuals are like a sharpened picture, strong, and all tracks play like a movie without title, allowing the listener any number of interpretations." - Grovecaffe

In-Tune: David Last - Whatwhat?

Style: Minimal

"On the whatwhat? EP, David Last demonstrates his diverse music-making dexterity and crystal-clean production skills. The EP commences with "animal hybrids" -- a quirky, snippy dancefloor killer fueled by snarling found sounds and snappy percussion that all minimal techno djs can appreciate. Then on "where it falls", david last slows the bpm down to a chugging crawl -- yielding a groovy, slow-paced dub tune meticulously doused with blips, bleeps and heady reverbs (somewhat reminiscent of monolake). This is followed by "sporty ankles" -- a minimal masterwork that moves gently with broken beats, pretty vocal stabs, snippy percussion, drenching reverbs and a dubby undertone. Then so inagawa reworks "where it falls" into a deep, sample-heavy minimal ass-shaker soaked with goofy found sounds and reverb-drenched timbres. then ditch offers an upbeat remix of "sporty ankles" -- a driving crowd-pleaser with a hard-hitting beat, gritty melodies and funny sound-sculpting. and last but not least, suz offers another version of "where it falls" -- a sexy and heady minimal house ditty doused with chopped up vocal snippets, a rumbling bassline, grainy textures and shuffly percussion." - David Last / UnfoundSound

In-Tune: Spoonbill

Style: Electronica

"After 2 years of fossicking for samples, making sonic waves in the studio and recording with some of Melbournes finest musos, the delightful, genre-bending first offering from Melbourne producer and live electronic performer Spoonbill has finally hatched. Megafauna is an elegant and quirky symphony of honey-scented grooves, jovial humour and joyous beat trickery, melding an ever-evolving array of styles into a distinctive ozzie blend. From its richly textured electronic centre to the live licks around its jazzier edges, Megafauna celebrates and pokes fun at colloquial Australiana. Call it quirk-funk or downbeat with bite, Megafauna takes the listener firmly by the scruff of the ear and leads them into a shady forest of rhodes, horns, and deep double bass, then back out into an eccentric wonderland of glitched-out grooves infused with AM talkback radio and rowdy bush cobbers." - Spoonbill / Omlette

In-Tune: Arrial

Style: Electronica

"Arrial made his debut appearance on Autoplate in November 2004 with the beautiful and introspective EP "This is My Beauty, Show Me Yours" [APL026]. Now, slightly over one-and-a-half years later, he once again blesses us with a magical blend of classical style guitar, meticulously plucked notes, programmed beats, and subtle electronics in his full length release "For the Love" consisting of nine reflective tracks. These nine compositions are emotive and their melodies carry feelings of nostalgia, guilt, regret, love, loss, hurt, and longing. The ever so delicate electronics are pleasant and add an additional texture of expression in between the filigrane and detailed guitar picking. The title has a twofold meaning: First, it's a message to his newborn son: most of the tracks were written in anticipation of his birth. Secondly, it's directed towards the "amateur" (in any endeavor) - that person who does something for the love of it without the expectation of payment." - Arrial / Audioplate

In-Tune: Musetta

Style: Downtempo

"Musetta date back to 1998, when the early pop careers of Matteo Curcio and Marinella Mastrosimone converged. They started working together with the post-rock project Sunscape (releasing 'Sunscape' for the Italian indie label Mellow Records in 1999), Matteo on the bass and Marinella on backing vocals. Then Matteo called Marinella as vocalist on a couple of release of Transonia, an electro-house duo (Luca Baldini, the other half of the project, now is an acclaimed international DJ/Producer). Later on they joined Giobia, an alternative-rock project (releasing the single 'Caught in Analogic Memories' followed by the album 'Beyond the Stars', both for the UK label Silent Revolution). The pair then started developing their vision in the intimacy of a duo. The musical roots of Matteo and Marinella are various: while Matteo got his background in electronic music since Kraftwerk and the kosmische music scene of the 70s, Marinella started studying jazz standards and later on the Indian classical music, taking private lessons at the Benares Hindustani University. Their common ground is jazz music, which they both love (Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Paul Desmond, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone among their favourites)." - Musetta

In-Tune: Mario L - Under the Cloud

Style: Electronica

"'Under the cloud' is conceptual EP with smooth opening 'Air' gently showing us basic elements of his composing and giving just a slight clue what should happen next. 'Bram' is gentle and melancholic track with jazzy tone and structure definitely reminding on early works of Art of Noise. Capturing you with it simplicity and inviting your mind to wonder. Continuing by smooth down beat tempo and leading us to the rhythmic escapades, strengthened by different atmospherical sounds, Mario's mystical and minimalistic sound invites you to stop for a minute. Stop for a while, forget your daily problems and routine and think about the deeper meaning about the things around you - just relaxing. Composed to be recognized not only on your first impression, we advise you to listen it more than once and enjoy when you really intend to wonder and move from everyday routine." - Mario L / Grovecaffe

In-Tune: Plosive - One Remixes

Style: Electronica

"Collaboration has always been an important factor here at One - whether it's through music, technology or artwork. In this spirit the return of Plosive brings us a showcase of covers, mixes and overhauls of many favorite releases from the past couple of years - including reworkings of Bad Loop, Jack Haberfield, Iua, Emil Klotzsch, Recue, Paranerd and Partikel. With much of the source material in hand, they have been made his own through complete reinterpretation - lending to their individuality and personal touch in mood and style. Too often these days original works are masqueraded and passed off as mixes - here the art of the remix is key and in usual Plosive form the sounds are heavily rhythmic and melodic - focused through an alchemy of Dub, IDM, Techno and more." - Plosive / One Bit Recordings
