In-Tune: Phlastah

"Ambient sounds intermingle and unfold in unexpected ways. The synth parts seem choreographed rather than composed. Poisonous melodies combining electro beats and vocals in traditional pop song structure The music is soothing and energetic, it has some dark, psychedelic and some bright laser beam side. Haunting atmospheres and moody, drawn-out melodies characterize the sound, which seems to come from a massive conglomeration of influences." - Phlastah

Surrounded by the sounds of benign musicians it is easiest to get your thoughts back in order. A few songs have come into being on my way through the last few years. Whenever I needed rest I took out my instruments. I can't express my adventures on the way better then..." - Ganwell

"Melissa Agate is no newcomer to the music scene, being exposed very early in life as the drummer of Australian avant rock outfit Sindog Jellyroll. Since then she has refined her styles and perfected what she believes to be a truly personal sound. Taking influence from her antipodean background and also from a life-changing move to British shores, Sentimentalist is deeply reflective and unashamedly visual. Finding herself discontented with the trappings of the rock genre, it was not long before Agate discovered electronic music and began to experiment with as many different instruments as she could manage to acquire. From acoustic guitar and ukulele to traditional bells and kalimba, anything at hand was added to the rich soundscape of her creative vision. Agate takes ideas to add to her ever changing musical ideal. It is her goal to produce an honest sound, something that is true to her soul, and she succeeds magnificently." - Sanso Xtro

"Her style can best be described as an "atmospheric brand of trip-hop and glitchy electronic, embellished with subdued, haunting vocals. It's mesmerizing and captivating, and resonates a dark and mysterious beauty." Samarah has been singing and playing piano since a young age and performed her first live show fronting a band when she was fifteen. Though her roots lie in rock and indie, she was turned on to electronic music in the late 90's attending local raves. As a solo artist Samarah has been engaging crowds in clubs, cafes and raves with her unique live p.a of accoustical elements, ethereal vocals, atmospheric explorations and glitchy beats. In-Tune: Luisine

"After relatively low-profile full-lengths on labels such as Isophlux and Hymen, Lusine (sometimes known as L’usine or Lusine Icl) releases his most accomplished album to date on Ghostly. Jeff McIlwain, the man behind Lusine, continues to shame the bloated IDM market with beats that kick and hiccup under fluttering melodies, confidently exhibiting the power of suggestion rather than overt display, in arrangements thick with emotion and complexity. Serial Hodgepodge serves as a defining fusion of instinct and intellect, as the sense of funk and dance genres in Lusine’s meticulous programming prohibit anyone from sitting still, while the myriad other elements flickering across the mix offer great things to those who read between the lines. The range of moods amongst the album’s tracks also suggest an inextricable link to the psychological strength of music. Percussive hits converse with one another while vocal samples pique the individualistic responses of a Rorschach test. Hodgepodge offers not only something to immediately captivate anyone who hears it, but also innumerable layers of detail to be discovered through dozens of listens, placing it among the most wholly rewarding albums to be found in any genre in recent memory." - Luisine

In-Tune: Khonner

"Khonnor first came to the attention of many through his cult internet-only EP releases as "Grandma" and "I, Cactus". With this, his long-awaited debut album "Handwriting", two years in the making, he has produced a record which is sure to bring an important new voice to the emerging "indietronica" movement. Taking influence from Jim 'O Rourke, Fennesz, Sonic Youth, The Smiths and David Sylvian, 'Handwriting' shows both reverie and intense originality. Khonnor manages to make music with a rare endearing naivity which combines a dark sense of humour with a keen uncynical eye. Dreamlike digitally manipulated guitar noise and wavering synths form the foundation for most of the tracks, complimented by Khonnor's frank and open lyrics throughout, breathing life into his tracks with an ease and unforgettable beauty as he charts the ups and downs of teenage love, pocket change and lost hazy nights." - Khonnor

In-Tune: DigDug

"DigDug is a founding member of the Agartha Arts Collective, a group of musicians and artists from the San Francisco Bay Area working to create a hybrid mythology through sound and image to function as social/political criticism, science fiction, and hallucinatory aid. The Collective serves Agartha, a city located in the interior of the Earth, where according to Hindu legend, an inner sun illuminates another world inside ours. According to the Hermetic axiom, 'as above, so below', Agartha must also simultaneously exist subjectively, inside each of us. Accordingly, the collective mission of Agartha Arts is to excavate both realms and disseminate their findings through art and music. The Collective has shown their work in galleries in Japan, Los Angeles, and Oakland. Born to a human mother, but fathered by a reptilian from the hollow interior of our planet, DigDug has since ascended to the surface of our world, and planted a series of vibrations he's labeled 'Sinister Sound-Wave Seedlings'. Producing tracks for Nac1 (FSC, Bomb Records) and the Presence (Uncommon Records), DigDug's sound has been described as 'Herbie Hancock meets the Swamp Thing'." - DigDug

"When Jon Kristian Bernhardsen was 12, he discovered how people were making great music with only the help of a computer. Inspired by this, he began composing on his own. At first he experimented with many different different styles, and then mixing them together. His biggest influence early on was The Prodigy and drum n' bass. Later he discovered the Cafe Del Mar compilations, which also had a big effect on his music. In recent years he has been listening to a lot of 70s soul, funk and disco. When working on a track, he often starts off with a sample and a load of effects. Then a drum track is built around that, before adding some of his hardware synths and other things to make up the final track. Usually the result will sound nicely chilled, but still danceable thanks to some funky drum programming." -enLounge

In-Tune: Testrauschen

"In May 2002, we (Enzo Cage and Karsten Koch) accidentally met in a bar in Munich. We realized that we both had an almost identical musical background: We had spent years composing computer music as teenagers. At the same time, I (Karsten) had finished setting up a synthesizer studio. It contained a fender rhodes, some old synthesizers and effect boxes, a vocoder and a groove box. When Enzo came visiting the new studio, we instantly improvised "The Fermi Paradox". The result impressed us so much that we decided to do more sessions and publish them under the name "Testrauschen". We always work the same way: We just sit down and play. Preparations are kept on a minimum level. In August 2002 we started inviting other people to our sessions. We recorded beautiful pieces of music with Mixter and Max Glueck. In our opinion, music should 'just happen'. When people improvise together, they communicate and this we cosider most important. We refuse to control everything and we try to navigate towards complexity and beauty. Our mission is not to break rules but to find new ones. The "Speric Lounge" is our latest live electronic ambient project." -Testrauschen

In-Tune: FusedMARC

"FusedMARc is one of the most interesting musical projects in all Baltic countries with no doubt. Magical and charming voice (Cilia), non-stop nerve hitting guitar effects (Nurasho), streams of groovebox coming from the depths of electronic sea (Norberth) and visuals full of strangest feelings (VJ Syrtha) part of which is available at releases; virtual gallery. All this eclectic combination is followed by the energy that comes from live drums - it does not leave a single possibility to change the rate of your heartbeat. This music evolves in the manner of plastic lightness and is pulsating with energy at the same time. Critics are already calling it the most talented in Lithuania. It reflects the best moods of Bjork, Broadcast, Stereolab, Portishead and other super talents that offer diving into deeper level of personal fantasies. Every song is like materializing an individual model of life. Singer who is rolled into trance is showing the way to the inside. In spite of the fact that this band is pretty young it already managed to take worthy place in the musical scene of Eastern Europe. The music of FusedMARc is going through mysterious and puzzling labyrinths to the world that is full of harmony and contraindications." - Fused MARc

"KiloWatts is a marriage of man and machine - a love story about cells and bits - an attempt at defining a hilariously absurd and imperfect reality through an electronic invention that promises to encode this vision eternally. The music is deep, the songs tell stories, and the sounds are intensely emotional. Nested within the musical structure is an element of quirky electronic experimentation - a roadmap of new and interesting ways of carressing and mangling waveforms. The result is a cinematic tale of knowledge, confusion, and pushing forward." - Kilowatts
