In-Tune: Ming & FS

"Never regarded as one-trick ponies, the Hells Kitchen residents push the boundaries of their hip-hop/drum & bass hybrid, peppering it with moody funk and atmospheric electronics. Blistering breakbeat workouts make way for hazy head-nodders and psychedelic jungle rollers, sometimes within the same track." -Ming & FS

In-Tune: Williamson

"Electronic yet emotional, digital yet honest and human, his music is an invitation to lose oneself in reverie. "I fell in love with music and became that quintessential bedroom recluse listening to tapes and LPs over and over again," "I wanted to make music for people like me, so I've tried to create things that are open ended and allow people to think for themselves and daydream to." -Williamson

A well done cd, one of my new favorites

In-Tune: Daily Situations

"Daily Situations is a production duo featuring DJ UFO! And Westside Chemical. Although UFO! is best known for his work in the pioneering west coast drum n’ bass collective Phunkatek, this project finds him returning to his early roots as a hip hop DJ/Producer. The group’s sound is brash and aggressive, yet atmospheric and visual. Fusing jungle’s hard snares and baselines with hip hop tempos, Daily Situation marks a departure from the organic fair that has dominated Bay Area hip hop. It’s unapologetically progressive, yet accessible to the listener." -Daily Situations

A great new direction for hip-hop

In-Tune: MRDC

MRDC "is an eclectic musician known for his ability to blend multiple diverse musical elements to compose something entirely new. He likens this intuitive music-making process to an electronic canvas, saying "anyone can throw paint on the wall and call it art, but a true artist instinctively chooses the best colors, shapes and textures... I don't follow formulas and yet my music works because I know how to blend just the right sounds." - MRDC

An interesting blend of electronica with many other genres which works well.

"Familiar, yet exotic, the sound of this creative duo guides modern electronic composition in a more organic direction, forsaking simplistic sample loop-based production in favor of traditional song writing and performance.

If you are seeking music for the soul as well as the body, something sweet to kick back and unwind with, then Lovespirals are for you." -Lovespirals

"The window looks so familiar these days. Its dimensions consist of two large vertically stacked panes separated by a small ledge running horizontally through the center like a spear. So many flies litter the separating ledge that you can see their collective shadow painting the floor in a strangely mesmerizing pattern. Today, my eyes are fixed upon the pattern of white water stains on the glass rather than the world moving outside. durapitch is part of the man and machine music collaboration" -Durapitch

In-Tune: Empathy

Empathy is the solo work of electronic producer Stuart Elding. Born and raised in Boston, UK, Stuart was surround by diverse music from an early age which shows in the music he produces today.

The main output of Empathy is breakbeat, probably due to the influences of Leftfield, The Prodigy and Hybrid, but often the breaks are fused with anything from laidback jazz grooves to high energy house tracks.

Very atmospheric and detailed, these tracks are a pleasure to listen to.
